Stoner rock is an understatement. Pot metal might be a better description. Lots of sludge metal and doom leanings. Everything pot! The sound is Sabbath/Sleep influenced metal without the Kyuss leanings of many stoner rock bands. Big chugging, fuzzy, distorted guitars. Scratchy vocals you can almost understand and pot, pot, and more pot.
1. A big simple chug that reminds me a bit of Sleep.
2. The riffs are a bit cliché but I don’t mind that too much and the vocals are just nasty in that EyeHateGod/Buzzoven scream way.
**3. A bit faster and shorter and it will knock you over like a High on Fire riff.
4. Slower buildup and when the vocals kick in, it’s only bass, drums and vocals for a bit. The track does speed up for the last two minutes.
**5. Slow with a big riff to begin. Once the track gets going the riff is HUGE. They change speeds a number of times on this track.
**6. Longer at over 12 minutes and more psychedelic and jamming. Lots of not heavy trippy parts. Including some sort of fake/odd harmonica-like sound.
**7. Wow, a slow heavy, bluesy version of a Muddy Waters track.
Surprised how good this is. -mph
