There seem to be 13 girls in Twelve Girls Band, but we’ll skip that. There’s also a DVD – we’ll skip that as well because hey, we’re radio. From the People’s Republic of China, playing traditional (mostly) instruments with a decidedly pop/world/new age/contemporary sound. All instrumentals. They play extremely well and, though I didn’t love the compositions, I can’t fault their talent. The notes tell what school they attend and what awards they’ve won. Show offs.

*1.Bright, upbeat & lyrical w/a movie soundtrack feeling.
2. Upbeat & bouncy w/a sweeping kind of sound.
3. Midtempo w/good flutes/strings. A folksy, more relaxed sound.
4. Fast ensemble piece w/nice work from all.
5. Oh dear, it’s El Condor Pasa. Please skip to next track.
*6. Rich, midtempo w/sort of an interesting spy film twang.
7. Slow & smarmily romantic.
8. Mid/uptempo. I’d like it if it weren’t for the disco beat in the back.
*9. Relaxed, sort of spacey track. Almost like a Theremin.
10. Cover of a J-pop song. Mid/uptempo, bouncy. Kinda cheesy.
11. Soothing new age intro, picks up into a busy Tesh-esque swirl.
*12. Live track. Crowd claps along, upbeat, Balkin-ish dance.
