He’s from Angola, though has lived in Portugal, the Netherlands & France (in exile) for years. Angola was formerly under Portuguese control, so you’ll hear a touch of samba underneath it all, but this is firmly based in his African roots. He has a husky, warm, wonderfully expressive voice, is backed by a great acoustic band, and the music is fresh, swaying, and delicious. I liked it all. I did. I did.

1. Lazy, relaxed, w/some bright touches. Very nice.
*2. Sweet and low-key blend of vocals/strings/light perc. Pretty.
*3. Light & bouncy w/sweet female backing vocal. A happy thing.
*4. Nice use of chorus. Swaying, bright w/sweet work from band.
5. Cool harmonica accent, mid/uptempo w/a fun, light feel.
*6. Uptempo & lively w/a playful tempo & nice energy.
7. Slow & sophisticated w/a late night jazz club feeling.
*8. Relaxed & warm. Nice work from all Light, joyful.
9. Too short! Slow, passionate, pipes/vocals.
10. Guitar/vocals/perc. Slow, emotional, soaring.
11. Uptempo dance w/perc/chorus. Sweet.
12. Bouncy samba-esque w/nice guitar/vox/accordion.
*13. Fast, energetic samba w/great work from all.
