Jazzy quartet with a warm '60s sound in their two-horm themes and a free jazz ethic in their solos. Really nice stuff with a warm sound and some good energy.
This is a SoCal group that's been together a few years and have developed quite nicely. They're changing name to "Empty Cage Quartet" (from "MTKJ," get it?).

1- Choppy, perky, mid/fast. Energetic group soloing.
2- Mid/fast, swingy. Into a choppy, squawky, fun trumpet solo. Sax solo gets blurry and fast -- big fun.
3- Slow and looming, into a faster phase with driven, chugging drums
4- Crazy-quilt theme, mid/fast. Fun.
5- Slow, stately. Gets quiet, then starts a slow brew about 5 minutes in. Ends in strong midtempo, with a swirly composition
6- Mid/fast counterpoint, like playful chamber jazz. Creates a nice groove for a tasty, warm trumpet solo.
7- Pulsing, driving, fast, energetic intro. Softer middle.
