Album Review
The Bawd Of Euphony
Reviewed 2006-01-09
LOTB’s debut CD resonates in you long after your first listen, like the ghosts of some forgotten tale, searching for a place to belong. On one hand there is an old timey link to the past (some of the songs are based on poems written by Nathan’s grandfather Rufus) but the truth be told LOTB’s music belongs right here and now. True crafters of the song, LOTB offer moody sounds with epic twists and gritty but gorgous melodies often harmonized to a tee. These local giants can hold their own indie favorites Smog, Low, Songs:Ohia etc. A blend of traditional Americana elements with Indie aesthetics makes this record a unique and beautiful offering to a world overwhelmed by electronics and noise. Sit back, breathe it in and enjoy every second of it! -tHE bAWD oF eUPHONy
