Album Review
The Bawd Of Euphony
Reviewed 2006-01-09
What can one say except that Wilco is probably the best band out there right now. Singer Jeff Tweedy has come a long way since his Uncle Tupelo days and his latest full length “A Ghost is Born” was my favorite record of 2004. in recent years tweedy has added experiementally minded musicans to his core includeing Glen Kotche on drums, Nels Cline on Guitars and in the studio Jim O’Rourke behind the boards, ). This CD captures Tweedy and Co. in their prime LIVE and on their home turf of Chicago. Pop hooks, genius songwriting, phenomenal guitar playing (dirty, noisy, beautiful, melodic, you name it), ghostly vamps, rockin anthems, this incarnation of Wilco has everything. Just listen all the way through track one and you’ll get it! -tHE bAWD oF eUPHONy
