Moody fusion from a mostly Dutch band with Canterbury legend Hugh Hopper on bass. Frequently has a chamber-jazz feel.

Long intro to this menacing tune by Hopper previously recorded by his trio with Nick Didkovsky, Bone. It gets a lighter treatment here, but the fuzz bass part is still provides a fairly ominous, insistent basis for the soloing from the other members of the band.
Melodramatic intro leading to a brief freeish section, then a tighter middle section leading to solos.
Chamber-jazz, fairly dark tinge, especially after halfway through. Nice guitar synth work (something I never thought I'd say).
Piano ostinato leading into a wonderful slow trombone solo. Picks up the pace during the sax solo.
Fast unison head, funky, growling bass line; swinging solos.
This is a little smooth-sounding for my tastes in the intro, though more generously you could just say it's ambient jazz.
Looped intro w/ bass clarinet not unlike a Riley composition, leading into a head/solo/head structure.
Slow chambery intro, with long, middle-eastern-sounding melodies later; picks up the pace after about 3 minutes.
 Pretty straight.
