FCC TRACK 1 (in first 10 seconds)
Math/Jazz/Noise/Rock. INTENSE. Jazz and Rock shows should play this for sureā¦but so should everyone else. Basically just one fucking sick amazing and unbelievable drummer doing incredible shit over some experimental synths and other toys. Most of the tonal quality is spooky and dark. Rocks HARD most of the time, but there are also nice, emptier sections that really shine and are surprisingly pretty, although it may just be in context of the madness that inevitably precedes and follows. Tracks 1 and 4 are long, 10:00+ affairs, tracks two and three are more manageable in length. I find the shorter songs more coherent and capitivating, and the longer ones a little bit more masturbatory, but then again who doesn't love watching the hottest kids in the school wank it? My picks: 2, 3
1- starts with spoken word cusses: DON'T PLAY ON AIR UNTIL 0:10!!! freaky, noisey, jazzy, much variation amongst many sections. Many gloomy eerie parts, also just lots of mathrockin noise. Around 8:00 in, an awesome and sparse spooky section that is incredible but also a good fade out point if you're looking to cut it short. Ultimately it does fade out prettily on its own if you can be patient though (~11:00)
2- start/stop-y, synth-paddy-videogame-esque jam. Nice catchy section at end- still math, but rump shakin. Short but Awesome.
3- starts quiet then insane INSANE full speed and energy drums Thick organs, sparse jarrett synth key explorations, cow bells and other stuff come and go. Also, intermittently someone screams something incomprehensible, but it must be cool. Ends abruptly.
4- ambient-ish at first, drums come in going nuts and one somewhat irritating synth tone floats overtop. The rest of the song is very, um, exploratory, and awesome. Drags on but stays interesting throughout.
