American Black Metal "all star group” with Malefic (Xasthur), Imperial (Krieg), Azentrius (Nachtmystium) and the two locals: Wrest (Leviathan) and Hildolf (Draugar). Very bizarre & awesome stuff. Strong thrash & doom influence through most every song. The vocalists apparently change on each song but each approach is so obscured in darkness it’s hard to tell. They stand by their philosophy that Black Metal should not be easily accessible (or consumable) music. Regardless of a lack of "hooks" or "clarity", this is continually challenging & interesting.
(((((1))))) Howling thrashing blackness with a killer Hellhammer-like breakdown.
(((((2))))) Awesome & twisted with a riff that’s best called “melted thrash” & some whirlwind bombast.
((((3)))) Centered around an incredible guitar tone with howling vocals. Slow Celtic Frost-y gloom & doom with a hint of atmosphere.
((((4)))) A storm of violent speed. Fucked up, off kilter drum machine and pretty (!) doomy breakdown starting at 3:12
(((((5)))) Ultra-bleak & epic, haunting waves of slow, murky guitars. Very creepy vocals. Closer to My Bloody Valentine crossed with Darkthrone?
(((((6)))) Incredible howling vocals, Sounds like they’ve got a trumpet in the mix, too. Weird and Burzumic but enticing.
(((((7))))) Raging black/speed metal. Vocals are more like demonic screams and pangs of no remorse.
(((((8))))) 1991-94 era Norway styled B.M. with insane thrash parts. Wrest’s (or Hildolf's?) voice is totally mangled but adds to the twisted allure.
((((((9))))) Slowly spiraling doom. Melancholic and slight psychedelic/loud indie rock feeling. Not far from Xasthur’s weirder tracks. Makes for a good soundbed. --Ragnar Of Ravensfjord
