Charlottefield – How Long are You Staying (Fatcat)
Angular rock with slight post punk leanings but in the end, indie rock. Vocals are up front and in your face. The sound is clean. Somewhere between UNWOUND, JESUS LIZARD, JUNE OF 44 and post punk.
**1. Prominent simple bass line with screamed vocals.
2. Straight indie rock guitar and quieter more patient sound.
**3. Simple, driving indie rock that could have come from the early 90s. Vocals are muted a bit.
**4. Simple clean guitar riff repeats as the rest of the band envelops it. Feedback eventually shows up and there is a subdued jam at the end.
5. More melodic instrumental that reminds me a little bit of JUNE OF 44.
6. Driving bass and drums with screaming vocals. All while someone sounding minimalist like SHELLAC use to, just not as heavy. Just when you think they are going to rock loud they pulled back.
7. Arpegiated guitar lines and more muted vocals. Short.
**8. Noisy, feedback, with a riff that digs up through the pile of noise and takes over. Ends with almost a minute of silence left on the track.
OK Stuff -mph
