Another session of catchy and slightly cerebral jazz with lots of compositional quirks and creative soloing. Pleasant to "normal" jazz ears, give it a spin. Well varied band includes violin and sometimes tuba, but most passages have a straight jazz-combo feel led by sax and trumpet.

(Violinist, btw, is Charles Burnham. Check him out with James "Blood" Ulmer in Odyssey: The Band)

1- Jerky bebop, mid/fast. Squeaky violin solo.
2- Latin percussive feel, with long groany tones as the theme. Gets into a tumbling near-chaotic piano solo.
3- Upbeat complex bop, fast and just a little crazy
4- Chamber/artsy, with pizzacatto violin and soft horns that echo big-band styles just a little.
5- Slow and swaying, a bit of old ballroom swing
6- Mid/fast and bright, with tuba and violin. High energy, short solos.
7- Bass solo intro with slow horns, into a mid/fast walking blues.
