Album Review
Reviewed 2006-05-02
Yowzers! Crazy-good flamenco (for once having a dancer in the background is actually integral to the music!) with equally good guitars. The feet of dancer Pepe Torres become part of the band, which consists of percussion, Cuban tres guitar, and traditional flemenco guitar. Fabulous music rooted firmly in the history of flamenco, but with hints of contemporary flavors from elsewhere. Every track is not just good, but amazing. If you are a guitarist, you should listen to their technique. Oh yeah, the music is a tribute to Maestro Diego Amaya Flores del Gastor, icon of flamenco guitar.

1. Pounding footsteps intro to mid/uptempo flamenco. Some vocals.
2. Mid/downtempo great strings, vocals, palmas & steps. Oh yes!
3. Slow solo tres, picks up. Delicious blend of strings, palmas.
4. Relaxed with an elegant, stately sound. Vaguely medieval & Arabic
5. Starts restrained. Perc at 2:00, gets fast. Feet & palmas. A journey.
6. Lovely blend of strings, mostly down/midtempo. Hints of jazz.
7. Light & swaying, a touch of both Mexico & Cuba. Vocals. Cool.
8. Uptempo strings/palmas. Gets into a nice flamenco jam.
