Sizzla – Ain’t Gonna See Us Fall (VP)

Reggae/dancehall/soca/hiphop/you name it, from one of the biggest stars in Jamaica these days. Pretty complex stuff – hard to define riddims, sweet background vocals with lunatic falsetto raps, righteous rasta rants combined with angry violence, love songs about sex… I’m making a radio clean copy because everything from track 3 to 7 are completely rank with FCC violations, and they’re also some of the best tracks.
As far as I can tell (it’s hard with the accent and crazed rapping!) there aren’t any FCCs in the first 2 and last several tracks. DO NOT play tracks 3 to 7 from the original disk on the radio! I like tracks 1, 3, 8, 9, and 16 best.
1. 3:48 **downtempo, rock ‘n’ roll riddim, sweet singing, a bit of sax. Sounds really familiar.
2. 3:55 *slightly downtempo bubble (literally, you can hear the bloops) very sudden ending.
3. 4:01 **FCC 0:50, 1:38, 3:05 “fucking” uptempo, crazy vocals, great bouncy beat.
4. 3:26 *FCC at 0:08 “fucking”, 2:00 “shit” midtempo, crazy rap.
5. 2:55 *FCC at 0:19, 0:57, etc. “fucking”, 0:35 “ass”, midtempo bounce with steel drums, interesting rap.
6. 3:35 *LOTS of FCCs all over, midtempo dance/march electronica.
7. 3:09 *FCC “fuck” uptempo gangsta riddim (not really reggae), hardcore rap.
8. 2:55 **midtempo march, fun rap.
9. 2:50 **claps and yells, midtempo electronic soca, fun
10. 3:08 *uptempo clapping, sort of electronic soca barn dance, crazed vocals.
11. 3:25 midtempo electronic riddim, a bit of questionable content.
12. 4:02 midtempo dance-march, love song of sorts.
13. 3:52 *midtempo skank, spare production, sweet, only slightly crazed vocals
14. 3:17 *midtempo, rootsy, sweet singing, strong message.
15. 3:47 *midtempo, all sorts of added noises, nice singing and rap.
16. 3:50 **midtempo, completely crazed vocals by Sizzla, sweet singing by Thriller U, makes for an interesting combo.
