Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2006-04-26
This guy spent many hours playing Duh-bya speeches backwards and lifting snippets and piecing them together where they vaguely say things like “Satan, he loves you”. Funny, if novelty. Music varies from bad synth to classic rock damaged riffage. Fine line sometimes between a bad ass mofo and the afile. In this case, its pretty clear. Good stuff. If anything, track 1 redeems the whole thing.

1) “Satan, he loves you”, doomy near industrial feel, then a sloppy Stairway to Heaven riffage appears and brings a big smile to your face
2) if this really sounded like I think he wants it sound it would qualify as an FCC violation but it doesn’t, instead is just more funny stuff, a steady kick drum beat with some classic rocker guitar riffage
3) FCC (succeeds in getting a discernable “fuck” out of shrub)
4) 70’s damaged folk guitar, shrub sounds Slavic or sumpin, pretty surreal and good for drunk/stoned people
5) new wavey electro casio beat with little guitar melodies and wankery, “Cincinnati”, huh?
6) oh I see, he supposed to be saying “marijuana, have a hit”, nice, over some kinda semi hippie music, bongo and slight ska feel, you get the idea after one minute (pot down or use as sound bed)
7) electro industrial rock feel with guitar wankery, cant really get the intent
