Crowpath – Son of Sulphur (Willowtip)
Techie grindcore. Or maybe leaning towards techie hardcore. Think DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, THE END, PSYOPUS, etc. Lots of technical chops, complicated songs, and really a sound that never sits still. The problem is, like with a lot of these other bands, sometimes they forget about the song and it’s all about the technicality of the track. This still holds up and is damn heavy. From Sweden.
**1. Discordant, fast, and intense.
2. Stop-n-go, and a bit more melodic.
3. Slower and nosier beginning. Changes speeds a lot.
4. Odd rhythm in the guitar playing.
5. Not that heavy with some unique guitar sounds.
6. Heavy, changing speeds often.
7. Too many ideas squeezed into 2 minutes.
**8. Very heavy.
**9. One of the longer tracks and starts slow and heavy, almost doom-like. Never speeds up.
10. Fast, complex and heavy.
12. Every idea in a 7 minute track. Lots of feedback and slow sections. Ends early with almost 4 minutes remaining and what sounds like recordings from a bathroom.
Good stuff. -mph
