Modern jazz with breezy composing that's quite accessible, often pretty. Led by Gauthier's fleet violin and Nels Cline on guitar, who doesn't shy away from the effects and splintery "out" playing. An airy intensity that wouldn't be out of place on the ECM label. All tracks good.

If you like this, go check out the Chromatic Persuaders CD, featuring Mark Feldman on violin. It's a more "straight" album, less adventurous but in the same vein.

1- Mid/fast, pleasant melody, fun spacey middle
2- Soft '60s-jazz feel, bright. Mid/fast. Bouncy rhythm.
3- Coolly creeping; funky theme; a cavernous slow-noise solo
4- Fast modern bop, fleet and light. Subdued start w/drums. Nels shows off blues/jazz chops with an avant touch.
5- Hypnotic tribal-chant bass riff; laid back, mid/fast, sparkly guitar solo
6- Light mid/fast, breezy theme like soft fusion jazz. Gutsy, chugging guitar solo. Cool electric-piano solo.
7- Morose violin/guitar, almost classical. Becomes a dark, pretty midtempo, like ECM-label jazz. Very quiet start.
