Soulful '60s sound with big soaring energy. Gruff male vocals on some tracks (1,3,5,9) that sometimes soar into screaming waves of emotion -- it's kinda cool or kinda cheesy, depending on your mood. Blazing piano anchors most tracks. Piano and vocals are provided by John Larkin ... but the bandleaders are Woodard (drums) and sax (Farrell) -- hence, you get a lot of drum solos in the works.

- Melodramatic vocals, a bit overenthusiastic. Gets upbeat and calypso/loungy. Nice piano, though.
- Mid/fast hard bop, gets intense
- Fast and tense,
- Bouncing, fast. Cool piano solo.
- Overblown and even screaming take on "My Funny Valentine," interesting but a bit much
- Fast; rich breezy chords
- Slow, lovely, lush. Coltrane's "Naima," with fem. vocals
- Crazy fast
- Sentimental finale, big and melodramatic.
