Awesome mix of doomy, sometimes thrash metal, ethereal, gothic and even a little classical. Plenty of extremely low-tuned guitars. Tom “Warrior” Fischer’s “James Brown by way Conan" death grunt = “Oüh!”, ”Heeeey!”. Celtic Frost appeared out of the ashes of Hellhammer in 1984 and have influenced TONS of black, death and doom metal bands. Probably the first metal band to use sampling, industrial & noise elements.
((((1)))) Oüh! Heavy, doomy riffs but mostly steady & fast.
((((((2)))))) Driving & slow, nice stop/starts, kinda similar to their classic “Jewel Throne”. (FCCs “Fucking”, “Shit” sung once)
((((3)))) Really slow with vocals shifting from mellow, almost spoken to loud and slightly distorted.
((((4)))) Etheral, glacial male & female vox. Strangely reminiscent of Gary Numan but it works real well.
((((5)))) Winding, gothic doom with dual vocals. Chorus drags a bit too long otherwise great.
(((6))) Slightly tribal drumming. More ethereal sounds, good mix of female & male vocals. Goth-y, Sisters Of Mercy-like.
(((((7))))) Super thick riff, CLASSIC death march. Mid pace & heavy as bricks. “OOüh!”
(((((8)))) Fast & battering –killer. Closest they come to thrash here. Slows down a bit in the chorus.
(((((9))))) Creepy noise & industrial piece with distorted screaming vocals. Awesome!
(((10)))) Doomy epic sung in English, Latin & German. Extremely low guitar tunings.
(((((11))))) Classical/ethereal piece, very dramatic & pretty.
