Piano-led trio, straight jazz. Rich piano chords in the vein of Keith Jarrett, tracks that start out kind of relaxing but can build to stormy peaks. Accessible overall, with a sound the ECM label would enjoy. You'll find more of Yamamoto, in a similar setting, on William Parker's CD "Luc's Lantern."

- Quirky strident bounce. Later, some bumpy free-ish moments.
- Gentle ramble, midtempo; based on a Japanese folk song, not that you could tell. Builds to a strong groove.
- Mid/fast. Pleasant modern feel, a bit new-agey but gets strong
- Insistent pulsing riff, mid/fast, exiting and mildly tense
- Mid/fast, the kind of happy stroll you'd expect from a Cole Porter tune
- Slyly quiet and jazzy step, builds to nice crescendo
- Calm, soothing midtempo. Bass solo early on. Gains strength.
- Upbeat mid/fast
- Slow, spare piano solo, at once dark and pretty
