Brand / Perkis / Robair / Shiruba / Sperry - Supermodel Supermodel
Exploratory meeting of English trombonist Gail Brand with Bay Area improvisers, including the late bassist Matthew Sperry. Put together by Gino Robair, this set features the improvisers arranged in various groupings recording over several months. Everyone here has a fondness for abstracting away the instrument to focus on the range of sound that can be generated, the resulting tracks have an excellent cohesive vision. Very interesting stuff.
