A UK-based Senegalese kora player/singer teams up with an Egyptian violinist, an Italian bassist, and a Gambian percussionist. The result is a cool blend of traditional African roots a hint of funk, and a bit of jazz. It’s a fresh, different sound and one that should appeal to a wide audience. Good stuff, extremely well played.

*1. Mid/uptempo w/a halting rhythm & a catchy, jazzy flair.
2. Female chorus, starts slow, picks up. Great strings/perc. Pretty.
*3. Mostly midtempo instrumental w/a cool, free-flowing vibe.
4. Mid/uptempo blend of vox/strings/perc. An updated griot song.
*5. Lowkey at first, picks up. Emotional vocals & good strings.
6. Midtempo strings, light, instr dance w/a hint of Flamenco.
*7. Cool perc jam intro a bright, bouncy, happy dance w/vocals.
8. Light, mostly midtempo blend of strings/perc. A joyful sound.
*9. A cool, toe-tapping Afro-Celtic jam.
10. Cool, spare jazzy strings, whispery voice. Evocative.
