Slow intense classical music. Intriguing and meditative dissonance that unfolds over six gorgeous pieces. Full and rich while somewhat minimalist. Tracks 2, 4-6, and 8 for solo cello, the rest for string ensemble. Note that most tracks start off very softly. FCC clean. Copious liner notes if you wanna learn about Scelsi.

1. Extremely tense, minimalist changes. Haha, the soundtrack to the wasp factory in Ian Banks’ novel? Scary music.
2. Solo cello, slow, meditative. Reminds me of Arvo Part.
*3. Tense (very intense) orchestral again, but fuller and more changes this time.
*4. Solo cello, eastern-sounding, slow and rich. Interesting harmonies, gorgeous bowing.
5. 2nd movement of the same piece, slow and somewhat static.
6. 3rd movement, very small movements. Dissonance to dance to, for sure. Ecstatic.
7. Starts benign enough, gets gratingly dissonant and the last four minutes are brutal :). Somehow it’s beautiful though.
8. Solo cello, similar to track 2.
