Album Review

Abstract improv: duets of violin and sax (sometimes flute) in a free-jazz vein that touches on classical sometimes. Relatively little "extended" playing here, for a directly musical sound with frequent fits of dissonance or free-jazz aggression. Nicely worked interplay. Includes a couple of composition-based pieces at the end. Nice stuff.

1- Fairly aggressive scribblings
2- Airy, slowish. Rather dignified.
3- Slow, toneful start, into long blaring notes and fast sax. Quiet second half
4- Fluttery classical feel, energetic
5- w/chromatic harmonica, an eerie, folky, dissonant midtempo
6- Quick flutters, a jazzy energy. Ends with a slow, mournful composition with Asian overtones (and a blast of noise)
7- Asian Noh-like composition, slow and pensive
