Yet another solid sampler of world music. Strong performances throughout, and every track has something to recommend it. I really enjoyed every track (except for 8). (Oh, and Sadie will adore #3.)
*1. Oooh…smooth, hip down/midtempo jazzy cha-cha groove. Yum!
*2. Big, brassy, wacky-fun Latin oom-pah ska, Uptempo.
*3. Heavy Gypsy hip-hop beats w/jazzy breaks. Way cool.
4. Choral intro, kora, upbeat Afro funk w/cool perc/vox.
5. Afghan rubab instrumental, mid, traditional, expertly played.
*6. Mongo’s daughter. sexy, relaxed bossa/Cuban dance. Great vox.
7. Midtempo Afro-Brazilian sound, French vox, a sweet sound.
8. Euro-Tunisian trance, mostly downtempo.
9. Sweet mid/uptempo South African Gospel.
