Wow! A sophisticated, and extremely trippy, mixture of funk and modern jazz with sci-fi ambiance. Produced by Hip Hop producer Scotty Hard (Wu Tang clan) and pairing two keyboard players - John Medeski (old analog keyboards) and Matthew Shipp (mostly piano). Bass is contributed by William Parker, drums by Nasheet Waits, additional percussion, by Mauricio Takara and Hard himself. Electronic ambiance and effects – DJ Olive. Pretty heavy on the funk and sci-fi, but very nicely counterbalanced by the crisp piano.
1/1:28. Scratchy, dark and mysterious intro. Merges nicely to the next track.
*2/6:41. Trippy funk. Starts fast with drums and fuzzy guitar(?) and slows down with a trippy jazz piano. Ends with some interesting sampling.
**3/3:40. Lush jazz funk. organ and piano.
4/4:42. Mystery melody. Pensive piano.
*5/4:08. Fabulous Trip-hop. Heavy drums, pads and sci-fi ambiance.
**6/5:27. Keyboard funk. An amazing dialog between organ and piano.
*7/1:21. A short and cool jazz piece. Impressive organ playing.
8/4:54. Jazzy funk leads to psychedelic mayhem, and back.
*9/2:15. Sci-fi funk. More emphasis on the snare and crisp angular piano.
*12:30/10. An epic, tense, slowly evolving, funky trip-hop. Ends more than 4 min before the designated end, but resumes 30 sec from end with a weird voice recording.
