An awsome release from a duo coming originally from Indiana, and later from Chicago, mixing Jazz, funk, lounge and Dance. As implied by the name, heavy use of Rhodes electric piano to give a cool 70’s funk vibe, but with “a slight electronica and hip-hop makeover”. Very slick production. Easy listening, but so cool. No FCCs.
*1/3:03. Slick and jazzy instrumental funk with a dominant bass. To lick the fingers.
*2/2:56. Fast. Slick poppy female-vox hip-hop with a background of a cool 60’s loungey orchestral tune.
*3/3:47. Mid-tempo. Romantic movie opening to a cool, somewhat dreamy, loungey, yet funky, electronica.
4/3:22. Heavier dancey funky hip hop.
5/5:14. Relatively fast funky Trip-hop, a-la Thievery Corporation, but cooler and not as cheesy.
*6/3:06. Classic 70’s funk with the keyboards, hand clapping, and female background vox.
*7/4:27. Sweet R&B song. Nice Female singing. Dreamy guitar.
8/4:06. Lounge. Begins with the well-known Brazillian vibes, but very fast becomes a fine funky jazzy piece.
9/2:52. Mid-tempo. Sweet Rhodes piano playing. 10/5:11. A moody romantic Trip-hopish song. Male vox. Too cheesy.
*11/3:38. Cool funky instrumental piece.
12/3:38. Cool, pretty fast, funky instrumental piece.
*13/3:02. A surprise! A quiet, slow “party is over” song. Male vox accompanied by acoustic guitar, violins, and female background vox. Still, a nice sweet song.
