Duets of bass (Leandre) and various woodwinds (Greenlief) -- free-improv stuff that frequently comes across with a classical air. Not sure if that's because of the music itself or because of the mock-classical song titles.

Either way, the stuff works. Builds off spontaneously created melodies (as opposed to extended playing or experimental sounds). Lots of nicely involved dialogues, with two musicians expert at building atmosphere in tandem. Fast tracks have a catchy, visceral appeal; the slow ones work too, with an air of lingering restraint.

Most tracks are succinct: two to four minutes, encapsulating a single mood/atmosphere.

1- Chipper, mid/fast. A little dissonant.
2- Active and upbeat.
3- Subtle and quiet
4- Fast and skittery
5- Emerges in slow, grand sweeps
6- Bubbly mid/fast
7- Metallic bouncing sounds from Leandre's bow; perky and pleasant overall
8- Tangly and involved, after a light intro of popping sounds from the sax
9- Morose but mid/fast. Long emotional tones
10- First, voice: sparse howls and growls. Then sax: choppy and aggressive. Long quiet end... 12 minutes total.
11- The other long track (11 mins.), solo bass consisting mostly of buzzy bowed sounds. Starts quiet and builds to a fury about halfway; some voice moves in during the final minutes.
