Fresh-sounding mashup of world, rock, reggae, prog/fusion, jazz ... Very "pop" flavor, most ears should find something likeable in here.

West African influence in the electric bass, more obviously in the "world" vocals (2,3,5). Maybe some touches of prog too, faintly. Free-jazz cred from Marc Ribot (guitar) and Mat Manieri (viola).

Lots of cool guests (mat maneri, Ribot) ... ...
1- Driving, funky. Afrobeat guitar lead, pleasantly melodic. Guitar, viola, drums solos.
2- Grand, flowing intro, into spare mid/fast African song. Serious feel.
3- Susan McKeown! Kinda tough and gloomy sound, dissonant. Sung in Celtic (?).
4- Fast, bubbly, an almost Afrobeat theme. w/crisp violin and fusion-y breaks
5- Tough African/world sound, lots of percussion, vocals
6- Slow, heavy. Kind of Neil Young-ish.
7- Carefree intro, into stern growly guitar
8- Pop reggae w/English vocals, slow, soulful in a mainstream way
9- Abrasive prog/Crimson guitar assault, whoa.
10- Spare, fast viola/guitar duet. Chamber feel.
