Jazz improv quartet with electronics, led by sax and guitar. Often spiky and aggressive, fronted by guitar and sax, capable of ear-splitting noise. Also some electronics, maybe not put to the best use; sometimes it's just a distraction, especially given the low fidelity of the live recording.
Still, the electronics add edge to an overall dark feel. Hans Tammen (avant-garde guitar) and Alfred 23 Harth (sax). The backing band are veterans at this stuff: Jay Rosen (drums), Chris Dahlgren (bass).
- A crashing of noise, into fast abstract improv in that quirky European style
- Eerie electronics intro. Lonely sharp sax piercings. SEGUES into:
- Builds into a stuttering fast chaos
- Gloamy bass solo, SEGUE into:
- A slower kind of attack, still fairly fierce but mellower, quieter
- Fast aggressive blur, after a mid/fast improv intro. Ends in a nice jazzy space
- Mid/slow feel that heats up into an aggressive, punkish attack
- Disjoint, quiet sax/bass duet, into a steady midtempo beat, w/ passionate buzzy sax
- Like slow psych rock, kind of burning and bluesy
- A quiet procession, a bit mystical, with a theremin-sounding whine later. Gets a bit wild, but not much. A surprising change of pace.
