Meet your new favorite band: Female trio from Texas playing perfect pop, fuzzy and dreamy with no trace of “twee-isms” or cutesy bullshit. Vocals as good as they get, think Magneta Lane, Casual Dots, Chrissy Hynde in her softer moments (proof that a perfect voice is sometimes all it takes). Touted as a “female Morrissey” they took their name from a Smiths song. A healthy nod to all the great songsmithing (pun intended) ever done, Beatles, Pretenders, Raspberries, name it. I bet even Mike Howes would roll over and capitulate with the first song and play this band on the air. I’m surprised Ivo from 4AD hasn’t gotten his paws all over these women (Ivo having the greatest radar on earth for crystalline perfect female vocals).

FCC clean. My picks: definitely track 1, 3, and the “hidden” track, last 5:40 of 4

1) lilting guitar melody, pure and clean, followed by fuzzier choruses (like following a smooth shoulderblade over to a tomentous nape with your lips), perfect vocal melodies and delivery, something familiar about this, could be cuz I seem to have heard it in a Vicoden dream…
2) a bit darker, pensive
3) upbeat, 80’s New Wave flavor in the high-hat beat and soaring guitar hook, great vocal dubs in the hooky chorus
4) poppy and upbeat, a bit of simple pop’isms in a retro Raspberries vein, NOTE: song ends after 3:30 minutes, then ~4min silence and with 5:40 remaining a beautiful song appears, just vocals and acoustic guitar, lovely, oh dear
5) quintessential pop rock lick and feel, danceable, just sublime
6) swaying triplet feel, rhythm, epic
