Gleeful sassy girl garage pop rock and roll. 20 years before the Donnas there was Nikki Corvette. Who? After being dredged up through a severe underground fan-base (especially in Japan), Nikki resurrects herself with this new release, drinking from the same bottle she did back when Jimmy Carter was in office. At a time when the Runaways were trying to be tough and The Go Go’s sold out to the color pink, Nikki and the Corvettes were just being themselves, plundering the fun of 60’s girl group rock, teenage love with a dose of Motor City punk, foreshadowing all things to come in the form of The Muffs, 5,6,7,8s, Donnas, Bobbyteens, Spastics, and just about every girl garage band to ever use a Hello Kitty sticker as a coaster for their PBR.

FCC clean. My picks: 2, 5, 7, 11 (every song has a killer hook)

1) epic lyric hook, title track, Johnny B. Goode 12 bar rock
2) classic Corvette beat and feel
3) synth included but subtle, epic choru, upbeat
4) boogey surf blues feel “boney maroney”
5) sexy lyrics, rock and roll fun girl style yowzie
6) poppy, 60’s feel
7) anthemic rock and roll, hand claps, Chuck Berry riffs
8) more of a “girlie” pop feel
9) Cars’y synth, cowbell(?), different
10) big hipped rock swagger, tough girl lyrics
11) great chorus hook, driving rock
12) mid paced rock
13) fun upbeat classic Nikki
