Heavy ethereal, psych rock with metal riffage This is Justin Broadrick’s (Godflesh) “new-ish” band. Jesu also features the incredible Ted Parsons (Swans, Prong) on drums and some nice bass lines from Dairmund Dalton. Broadrick & co. It’s somewhat like taking Godflesh’s heavy riffs and beats and merging them with an often blurry shoegazer/psych vibe. All this results in a near-perfect album you’ll want to play over & over.

((((1)))) Thick, dense consistent riff with slow melodic descent that eventually moves around with flangers and piano sounds.
((((2)))) Similar to an old Godflesh song except tuned completely different and a bit more space for sullen melodicism.
(((((3))))) Big riff and a nice, almost poppy structure with lots of pretty, strummy chords & Broadrick’s faded melancholic vocals.
((((((4)))))) Epic, blessed out, ethereal “shoegazer” psych. Beautiful & catchy while still being somewhat sludgy and moving in a new direction.
(((((5)))))) Swervedriver crossed with Godflesh? Pretty simple riff but even this song has more than a few layers that you don’t catch the first go around.
(((((6))))) “Sludge-gazer”? Still another fantastic mix of the heavy low end and the melodic high notes.
((((((7)))))) Bright sound with nice interplay between the bass & guitar. Vocals are really trippy – sometimes melodic but still a bit faded. Gets heavier as it moves on.
(((((((8))))))) Stunning, sunny day guitar work with a steady, semi-heavy undercurrent. Just gorgeous "get lost in this" sound.
