Exploring grooves and rhythms in a free-jazz vein, with Hamid Drake on drum kit or hand drums, and William Parker on bass, percussion, or strange reeds (disk 1 track 4, e.g.)

DISK ONE
1 through 9 -- The original "Piercing the Veil" album, which is in our library already. Ecstatic free-jazz duets with a sense of groove (but not always forming a steady rhythm).
10- "First Communion I-A." Percussive duet, a series of mid/fast rhythms
11- "First Communion I-B." More percussion grooves. Faster and looser feel

DISK TWO
12- "First Communion II." Flute with an Asian sound, plus hand drums. Fairly fast. Gets crazy in the second half.
13,14,15 -- "First Communion III." One long bass/drums duo, aggressive free jazz in three long tracks that segue. Great stuff. Track 3 starts with a bit of a slowdown/breather but picks up the tempo afterwards. Track 4 includes a lot of warbly, singing, bowed bass. Gets into an interesting stomping groove later and ends with lengthy applause.
