Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2007-05-31
Croatian artist, electro-rock with a low-fi feel and no fear of swirling noisey treatments. Exotic and interesting if only because of the eastern bloc dialect, language. Mean guitars and mostly electronic drums. Nothing “dance” and nothing bash-out noise rock either. Great stuff, especially for fans of Suicide, VVV, old Cabaret Voltaire.

FCC clean (at least in English), my picks 1, 5, 6

1) swirling bending electronic treatments with an urgent rhythm in the
noise, vocals are echoey and indecernable in Croatian, like a sick Suicide
2) dark and pensive rock, electronic drums and treatments are the only thing keeping this from being Nick Cave’ish high drama
3) swing, sway beat, all fucked up
4) kinda funky rock flavor to this
5) bouncy electro beat feel, upbeat good pace
6) dark, slow to evolve, tabla/tom percussion, less noisey and dense than previous
7) mid paced, funky flare to the rock
8) slower feel, near spoken lyrics sound Russian to my naïve ears
