Second album from NYC jazz guitarist Amanda Monaco, in a quartet with a saxophone in the front line. At times, this is like warm standards jazz, but then you've got tracks that flash a modern writing style (5) or some free-jazz ideas (2,4). Monaco sporting a thoughtful and sometimes jangly sound on jazz guitar. Deceptively mellow; tracks like 1, 3 and 6 build up a nicely cool energy. Good stuff.

- Slow, pretty, gets a bit stormy later
- Upbeat bop, a spiky theme. Gets into aggressive free jazz and a spare guitar/bass duet.
- Soft, slightly exotic. Hard digging bass solo.
- Avant-garde, with controlled explosions amid slowish wandering. A fuzzed-out guitar sound.
- Upbeat with an urgent bassline amid relaxed sax/guitar lines. Later, a stern groove with attitude. Catchy stuff.
- Teetering, slowish intro, kind of pretty but tense. Then a nice mid/fast straight-jazz form.
- Warm straight-jazz, calmly mid/fast
- Ballad, soft and warm, big sax tone, unwinds into a gentle untethered guitar-sax duet for a while
