Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend

Vinyl-only release of experimental collage of bass, guitar, electronics, drums, turntables. Excellent in that its not just onslaught of four musicians but more of a melding. Avante feel for the most part (as opposed to spontaneous “noise” bashouts). Moments remind me of very early Sonic Youth in their use of feedback and dissonance. Great stuff

Side A:
1) looped tones, picks up with a little percussion, chill
2) drums start, then synth tones join in and the thing gets spastic and random feeling
3) builds pensive into a “wall of sound” cacophony with guitar etc, excellent
4) early Sonic Youth, no wave bash noise feel
5) beautiful feedback symposium, droney, old school

Side B:
1) bursts of walls of instruments
2) slight looping hypnotic, guitar loop and feedback evolves into a droney wall of sound
3) free-jazz tone, spastic cacophony of instruments, with a kalimba type thing going
4) bowed bass with looped treated rhythmic vocalizations/percussion and tones
