SON OF GUNNAR, TON OF SHEL
Edgetone, 2007

IMPROV – Experimental duo of Aram Shelton on wind instruments and Steini Gunnarson on prepared guitar, using lots of live sampling and processing for an organo-electronic feel. Mostly ambient, but gets pretty far out, too. #3-5 run together; they are a single piece.

1. 8:53 – metallic drone, clatter & blips, jumbled chimes, creaks, harsh tones
2. 5:41 – clarinet, creepy wailings, buzzing over riotous bubblings
3. 4:38 – slow saxophone & plucked string; layers add & drop; almost tuneful
4. 3:06 – sax tones continue over sounds like gridlock traffic…
5. 7:00 – …which get louder, then blossom into a sort of jangle w/sax melody
6. 5:23 – relaxed clarinet over low burblings & steady beat, single guitar string
7. 9:08 – quiet abstract guitar, almost slack-key, sax/trumpet drift lazily on top; becomes abstract ambiance in second half
