Giving The Table A Name – Tines Reviewed by Witz

Mellow, airy pop. Giving The Table A Name is Athens, GA songwriter Jeff Szwast’s band. The album is full of mellow, slowly growing songs, laced with unobtrusive vocals which at times sound very much like Iron & Wine. No one song stands out among the rest, but individually and together, they form a relaxing, sometimes melancholic soundtrack for introspection. FCC CLEAN.

1) Slow, dreamy throughout—very little change 2) Slightly more energetic—good drums 3) Bluesy, southern sounding song 4) Upbeat—nice guitar, builds a little at end 5) Slow, airy, rolling throughout 6) Slow, but with noticeable changes… 7) Mellow, “crazy, moody guitars” 8) VERY minimalistic and quiet 9) Medium paced, rolling song with interesting guitar-work 10) VERY airy and mellow, slow and weaving, fades to end album.
