Man In Gray – I Can’t Sleep Unless I Hear You Breathing
Punky indie rock. Female vocals. Think Sleater-Kinney and Sonic Youth. Most songs are pretty busy -- 2 guitars, bass, drums, often playing simultaneously with some distortion mixed in. There is some pretty awesome guitar work on this album -- fierce and fast, but not showy -- listen for it. They like to make a bed of noise and sit this guitar on top of it, can be pretty or punky depending on song. Never stick with one beat too long in any song. Album as a whole gets slower and spacier as it proceeds (though most every song degenerates into a noisy punky jam at some point to let the lead guitar loose). IMO, first 3 songs are best songs but my fav parts of album come in the 2nd half.
Picks: 1, 2(FCC), 3 & 6 Also Good: 7, 10 & 11 FCC: 2, 4 & 8

1 - Straightforward punky rock. Fast-paced headbobber.
2 - FCC "Shit" (once)…shame. Rockin bass. Listen to this one first for a feel.
3 - This song has some strut to it. Throaty sing/talk vocals prominent, more central to beat than in 1 & 2.
4 - FCC "F***". Start with slower, softer vocals. Can be very pretty @ some points.
5 - Weird track, not bad, but not my fav. A little like Sublime here w/ beat and guitar riff.
6 - Starts slow. Great wall of noise. First 2:30 my fav on album, then speeds up, degenerates into loud jam.
7 - Backing male vocals. Love the strong, driving drum beat.
8 - FCC "F***". Guitar makes me think Sleater-Kinney.
9 - Hard and loud. Much more like song 1 than 6 or 7. Not very memorable.
10 - Slow and spacey start. W/o punk interludes can sound like the Cranberries. Pretty guitar work. A bit different from rest of album.
11 - 6:35. Really enjoyed guitar work. This one not as noisy. False ending @ 6:00
