Intellekt & Dirty Digits – Intellektual Property

Lyrical hip-hop. From Atlanta, Georgia, Intellekt & Dirty Digits bring the brand of lyrical, “hangin’ with your friends” hip-hop that is loaded with pop-culture references, humor, and intricate wordplay. Intelligent lyrics are used to describe mostly everyday events as opposed to deep social or political issues, but with a great flow and a variety of beats and patterns, every song is unique and intriguing. With great chemistry, the two provide catchy hooks and great DJ work, with a perfect blend of scratching, mixing, and vocals; definitely worth checking out and all tracks interesting and enjoyable.
FCC CLEAN!

1. Intro – scratching and talking turns into actual track at 1:07. (2:41)
**2. Jazzy, laid back, nostalgic. Catchy hook, interesting rhymes and scratching. (3:54)
3. Staccato string instrument beat. Sounds mischievous, talk about trying to get through writing a song, focusing, and A.D.D. (3:59)
**4. Mostly about whether or not to get high. Sounds like an old movie soundtrack in the beat. Great changes and variety of rhythms. Feat. Sol-illaquists of Sound and really well placed female vocals sounding a lot like Lily Allen. (4:08)
5. Mellow track, less of a hook, highlights writing and scratching talents. (3:45)
6. Mellow track, laid back, soulful beats behind a narrative of evading the police. (3:51)
***7. Self-Promotion track—GREAT beat, hook, lyrics, references, and DJ work. (3:41)
8. Interlude – instrumental (0:35)
9. Similar to Atmosphere’s “Like Today.” Describing day full of problems. Repetitive, hypnotic, with good vocals and laid back narrative. (6:11)
10. Hard, banging beat. Story about getting robbed. Changes entirely at 2:45. (3:59)
*11. Cool, oboe sounding beat. Fast rhymes and scratching. A little Aesop Rock-y. (3:31)
12. Slow, sexy track. Smooth, even flow. (3:25)
13. Tribute to their friend who died. Airy and contemplative. (4:20)
**14. Up-tempo, dual MC track. Solid beats, scratching and lyrics. (4:23)
