Don’t be put off by the fact this is Gloria Estefan. This is stylish, sexy Latin music w/lots of flair and the band kicks ass. Perhaps that’s because her guests include Latin superstars such as Carlos Santana, Paquito D’Rivera, and Arturo Sandoval. Like I said, don’t be snobbish because she was a 80s girl, she really does have a nice voice: warm, emotional, and fluid. I’d play any track on my show. Yes, really. 1. Downtempo, sensual w/hot horns & a catchy “let’s dance” feel. 2. Midtempo cha-cha rock w/screaming guitar, hip perc & warm vox. 3. Relaxed strings in a love song that gets into a hot & catchy dance. 4. Upbeat & wiggly w/good chorus and nice work from all. 5. Fast and brassy salsa w/energy for days. Yowzers! 6. Slow and sensual rumba, picks up a bit. Romantic & stylish. 7. A late night slow dance w/warm vocals/chorus. Picks up later. 8. Instantly bright & upbeat. Good vox/chorus. Happy & fun. Dance! 9. Muted trumpet, upbeat perc/vox. Hot rhythms & lots of energy. 10. Fast, fast brass/perc/vox. Bright, jazzy trumpet especially. 11. Midtempo w/a “why doesn’t he love me?” sound. Cool sax. 12.
