Percussion-based jazz/world hybrid with more than a touch of funk. The use of “worldly” percussion instruments (djembe, marimba, tabla) it what gives this release its cosmopolitan flavor as he sprinkles his compositions with hints of India, Africa, Brazil and the Middle East. He’s a hot percussionist and he’s surrounded by a band that knows how to jam. One star each track.

1. Mid/upbeat. An Afro-Latin sound backs hot flute/horns/perc.
2. A relaxed groove w/swarms of liquid horns sliding over each other
3. Sleepy marimba backing honey-sweet trombone. Midtempo & cool
4. Funky middle-eastern inspired wiggle w/hot ‘bone/bass/horns.
5. Gamelan-infused downtempo & perc then horns & sweet flute.
6. Hip Brazilian/Indian/funk/jazz. A midtempo snake w/hot brass.
7. Mid/up Latin rhythm w/freeform funky horns & changing textures
8. Starts quiet, Zen-like. Slow, improvised w/great politeness.
