Amazing collection of 3 epic tracks encompassing ethereal doom metal more commonly known as “shoegazer metal” (see Jesu, Alcest, Amsouers). As often beautiful as it is heavy - working comfortably with the quiet and the loud. Nadja is the Canadian duo of Aidan Baker(guitars/vocals/piano/woodwinds & drums) & Leah Buckareff (bass/vocals). Baker’s been prolific on his own and with Nadja. Very talented and doing so much with so few notes. |
((((((1)))))) Excellent, epic mix of ambient, psych and cyclical doom.
(((((2))))) Minimal piano and resonating bursts of doomy guitar and distortion. Other times very hazy to very harsh & noisy, like early Godflesh.
(((((3)))))) Sparse bass & noises, some minimal vox, gets SUPER heavy & doomy at 7:05 and never lets up.
