60’s style garage rock by chicks with attitudes. (that’s a GOOD thing) Lots of Farfisa, fuzz guitar… Very good for waking up to. Although they dress very well, it also helps to picture the dancers from Hullabaloo or Ready Steady Go, with gogo boots and bikinis…
No FCCs detected, although the adenoidal garage accent is pretty thick…. Nah, it’s not meant to be DIRTY.
All of it’s pretty similar, actually, except for track 3, the Big Anthem.
1. 3:07 **midtempo 60’s garage rock (gotta do the jerk) with tons of Farfisa. Clean, high energy breaks.
2. 3:20 **this one’s definitely a “pony” – uptempo British Invasion 4/4 romp. Nice bits of growling guitar.
3. 3:08 *Big Electric Guitar, slow, adenoidal anthem. Where does that garage band accent come from? “get what I waoant”…
4. 2:41 ***Nuggets-style garage rock, fun lyrics (as far as I can make out). You can do pretty much any dance to this. Slow bit in middle.
5. 2:43 **up tempo and high energy, organ driven, frug-able.
6. 3:01 ***slow (for these guys) strut – get out your go-go boots and GO! Definitely all about possessiveness, heh heh…
7. 2:45 **hyperspeed farfisa and bass (always a good combination) punk rock.
8. 2:56 **midtempo Nuggets-punk stomp. Serious fuzz solo.
9. 3:01 ***midtempo farfisa and bass with fuzz solo and yeah yeah yeahs.
10. 2:23 ****surfer stomp with tons of righteous angst, great guitar sound – too bad it’s the shortest song.
11. 2:59 **Kinks-y and basic.
