Excellent sampler of world music from ‘round the planet. Not a bad track in the bunch, and something for every taste. One star each track. 1. Regally hip mid/upbeat Ethopian electronica dance groove. 2. Rai-influenced mid/up dance track w/cool spoken lyrics in French. 3. Wiggly, joyous soukous w/a totally infectious sense of fun. 4. Sweet kora/balafon/guitar jam. Mid/upbeat and excellently played. 5. Mid/upbeat Afro funk w/wicked hot horns. Yowzers! 6. Gritty, upbeat blues rock w/nasty guitar/vocals. 7. Liquidly jazzy bandoneon-based modern tango. Stylish, delicious. 8. Quirky mid/upbeat Mexi-rock w/a hip groove & great beat. 9. Afro-infused salsa, upbeat, sharp, very, very catchy. 10. Midtempo & moving w/catchy melody & great vocals. 11. Gorgeously tragic fado w/beautiful female vocals. So sad! 12. Starts quiet, downtempo, gets midtempo. Crystal-vocals. 13. French love duet, down. Then picks up, false end at 2:40 then piano 14. Dramatic intro, then brassy midtempo, squeaky Italian folk w/vocal 15. Upbeat Sufi-infused dance, great vocals/tabla. Lively. | ||
