DJ AXEL - "Breakin' the Law" CD (diy)
Mash up fun. Lots of silly mashups, often mashing 80s metal with hiphop or R&B. The titles tell who's he's mashing. Large chunks of each song are used.
**1. Yeah! "Drop Dead Legs" from VAN HALEN goes perfectly with the T.I. hit.
2. 70s disco meets FAT JOE and NELLY.
3. When I read the title I wondered how the hell he was going to pull this off. BOB MARLEY, LUPE FIASCO and JAMES BROWN? I would have left MARLEY out of it. I also found it interesting that this LUPE FIASCO hit was about skateboarding.
4. You know that QUEEN beat. Some scratching. Rhyming right on the QUEEN beat.
5. Never liked this JAY-Z track but he fits it right with the GUNS N' ROSES track.
**6. Just the idea of MICHAEL JACKSON and EMINEM is funny. Mostly the "Billie Jean" loop with EMINEM rhyme.
7. Scratching to go along with "Brick House". LIL' KIM rhyming over the top. This could have been the original.
8. This ones too easy.
**9. If JUDAS PRIEST and LL COOL J wasn't enough. Toss in some J.LO and samples from "Heavy Metal Parking Lot". Rough around the edges but worth it.
10. Almost sounds like numetal or a failed metal/hiphop combo. The way he replaces the MOTLEY CRUE chorus with G-UNIT works great.
11. Scratching, WU-TANG samples and a bass line from the RHCP. Messy.
**12. Wow. PEGGY LEE vs LUDACRIS?
13. STEVIE WONDER'S "Superstition" loop with SNOOP DOGG & DR DRE rhyming over the top.
14. FCC (says ass 3-4 times) the juxtaposition is ridiculous. Old vocal jazz and not a good rhyme.
**15. FCC Excellent and very dirty. "lick my pussy and my crack" along with a few other things.
Fun stuff. -mph
