Another crazy collection of obscure as hell post punk from the always good Hyped2Death label. This time out all bands from no, not Wales, SOUTH Wales. Amazing how they can conjure this stuff up. As it gives you more evidence that punk and post-punk/new wave wasn’t limited to 6-7 bands that got popular. Overall a mixed bag but some stuff worth seeking out.

((((1)))) Bassy, strummy, rhythmic. Like a lo-fi version of early Wire? 2nd song is better and filled with off-kilter harmonic laden guitars and a countdown.
((2)) (FCC “FUCK IT” 0:52 sung twice), airy, jazz-pop with female vocals. Kinda spotty.
(((3))) Twangy, disjointed, sort fast and kind punk. Not all “there” though.
((((4)))) Sharp chord havin’, bassy & swaggery with a lotta attitude.
(((5))) Strummy, catchy but redundant as fuck.
((6)) Lo-fi, twangy, disjointed er, harmonica driven postpunk?
((((7)))) Uppity, punky & bouncy with weird vocals but rather infectious.
(8) Super-bland 60’s inspired pop that goes “blah”!
((9)) Murky and confusing. Sounds too cartoon-y.
(((10))) Bassy, odd-metered later gets faster & punkish. Would be best if it stuck to the fast stuff, though.
((11)) Airy keyboards, female voice just talking and clanging spoons.
(((12))) Ultra-raw punk-ish lo-fi. Covering The Red Krayola tune.
((((13)))) Weird tempo, 60’s organs, violins and very definitive New Wave/Post-Punk vox. Weirdo psych meets post punk. Very interesting.
(((((14))))) Oh yeeeah! A straight up punk tune about violence! Razor sharp guitars and direct as hell approach.
((((15)))) Odd-metered 2nd wave ska at mid-tempo. Pretty rad stuff with lotsa bass and slow gallop.
((16)) So-so folk rock
((17)) Noodly, strummy, like a directionless mix of post punk.
(((18))) Pretty fun garage-y punk rave up.
(((19))) Holy hippies! Sitar, drones and some patchouli smelling’ dude some “groovy” version of an olde English folk tune. Pretty neat, really.
((((20)))) Bright guitar sound, lots of sarcasm and spite in the vocals.
((((21)))) Bassy, story-telling vocals, pretty close to early Wire with sometimes funny lyrics.
(((22))) Odd-metered guitars/bass, nice vocal sounds. Pretty catchy.
(((23))) Slow, moody, also similar to Wire or the moodiest side of Warsaw.
