Really interesting mix of technical extreme metal (bits of grind, death metal and “post-hardcore”), electronica, video game tempos & tonalities. It has that “anticipatory” feeling. Depsite their outward drifts in to say ambience (see #5) they consistently stay heavy. File near Neurosis, Converge filtered through the weird sci-fi dystopia of O.L.D. In all, a very strong album.
((((1)))) Video gamey/sci-fi intro then blasting metallic skitter skatter. Similar to O.L.D.
((((2)))) Straight ahead electro-grind-metal blast with a few slight detours.
(((((3))))) Bombastic, riffy, squirrelly guitar parts and some nice melodic breakdowns.
(((((4))))) Really good minimal ambient/down tempo beats n’ keyboards interlude.
((((((5)))))) Distant and cold electronics with a futurist/”newER wave” sound and loud ass guitars & vocals. Excellent!
(((6))) A bit TOO manic but still pretty interesting in the crazy shifts from blasting grind to sci-fi pop to breakbreaks!?!?
((((7)))) Instrumental jam with lots of crazy electronic overlaying and repeating riffs.
((((8)))) Fast grind/blast into metal into more “IDM-ish” electronics & beats. Killer doomy to grind parts at 2:01-2:45
((((9)))) Kinda silly how they can to these stop/starts super precise but it helps when you work with a drum machine. Pretty rad regardless.
(((10))) Interlude with high pitched electronics as interesting as it is annoying.
((((11)))) Sludgy, epic and introspective. Later it gets heavier & sorta proggy yet repetitious as it goes on.
