Country/folk, a female singer with a high, twangy voice. Music is often upbeat, but the songs cover the usual ground of longing, loss, and sadness. (Check the depressing life story on #5.) Here's a surprise: While she's spent time in places like Santa Fe, Levine is a Harvard graduate and an actress in New York. 1- Passionately sad 2- Slowish folky 3- Breezy mid/fast, about hitting the road 4- Sadly midtempo 5- Bright twangy rock, restrained pace. 6- Slow. Feels a bit Hawaiian, even. 7- Sentimental mid/fast 8- Slow 9- Triplet beat, sad but fairly fast 10- Mid/fast, rolling feel. Upbeat but wistful. 11- Soft, very slow at first. Quiet feel. 12- A slowish sway, midtempo. Grand gospel ending. 13- (Quickie bonus track: Some little kid leaving a phone message or something.) | ||
