Mats/Morgan = Morgan Agren (drums) and Mats Oberg (keyboards) a solid Swedish jazz/prog/fusion duo that’s apparently been together for over 25 years. M/M take a bit of ‘ol Frank’s 70’s fusion sound along with bits of Soft Machine, Zappa and Mahavisnu Orchestra into a really nice sound of their own.

((((1)))) Jazzy, complex drumming and some nice keyboard sounds.
((((2)))) Nice, traditional jazz piano, a mostly straight ahead piece with a few jagged patterns.
Would sound nice on either Fo or Wedge’s show.
((3)) Yikes! Off putting 80’s synth overkill. Pretty silly like Zappa’s syncalvier experiments in the 80’s (see/hear: “Jazz From Hell”)
(((((4))))) Scattershot soundtrack from some unreleased 70’s crime thriller. Nice mix of drumming & keyboards. Would go great with “Race: In” by Battles.
(((5))) Short, horn drones & random keyboard notes interlude.
((((6))))) Jazz, funk/fusion awesome-ness. Lots of slinky bass and super funky keyboards. Very busy sounding in places. Not far from Herbie Hancock’s “Headhunters” era with a slight early 80’s tone.
((((7)))) Tricky, circular tempos in some crazy signature with bits of buggy/spacey transmissions.
((((8)))) Short, looping of 60’s “elevator pop” and clapping. Like an Negativland outtake?
((((9)))) Traditional jazz piano later has some child-like Swedish story and later free jazz improv then over to some modern fusion. Wild!
((((10)))) Super short bouncy bass & keyboards. Pretty awesome though.
(((((11)))) Near videogame, electronic jazzy/prog, crazy tempo changes to where it’s more complicated than the first time you hear it.
((12)) Too much bland harmonica and not much else.
